Dr. Martin Luther King

Through a few of my courses of academic study, my anthropology teachers always say at the beginning of the semester, "Believe it or not, American society is progressing. If you think society is unfair today, you should have seen it fifty years ago." Today, no society is perfect and the idea of utopia is pretty far fetched. A journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step, and with people like Dr. King, we are one step closer to a better society.

As you may or may not know, I like to travel, mostly on my motorcycle. Through my travels, I have learned to be more humble and tolerant towards people of ALL walks of life. Life is short and we need to lend a helping hand to those who are less fortunate than others because social status, ethnicity, or gender.

So if you have a holiday or you are working today (like me, I have to feed my dog), take some time to observe how Dr. Martin Luther King changed and inspired the world and think what direction you would like our society to go. Our society changes together. Elections are coming this year. Peace through action.
