Went to San Juan Capistrano
I went to San Juan Capistrano today. I'll write a better story when I post the other other official images. But there were A LOT of kids there on a field trip or something. I loaded these images and I thought they were pretty funny.

And actually, I just took these real fast because it was crowded with kids. I had no idea those kids were being pushed around or running around with cheetos.

War Dance

I watched this movie last night. It was about a tribe in Uganda who struggle everyday to not be kidnapped by the outside rebels. A lot of the parents are killed and the children are either kidnapped to be rebel soliers or become orphans. They live a life of fear.
But this tribe in the movie has some awesome dances. They get the children together and go to the National Uganda Music Festival and compete with the best tribes of their country. The music is really really cool African drums and dances. They said that their music helps forget about their problems and troubles for a little while.
The movie follows a few of the children and shows what their life is like.
You can rent it at Blockbuster.

Our Diet Needs an Evolution
I wrote an article for my biological anthropology class earlier this week. We had to write about a biological problem of modern day homo sapiens. Honestly, the class was pretty boring because it just compared different kinds of monkeys and the similarities and differences of each monkey evolutions and cultures all over the world. I like to study people, not monkeys. So when we get to read and write about modern issues of humans, I get excited...
The evolution of our diets have evolved a little too much over the past 100 years. Ever since the dawn of mass producing agriculture and the industrial revolution, we (as humans) have made it easier to consume food on a daily basis. When was the last time you had to starve because you didn't have any food to eat. In America, probably never. We have evolved from hunter and gatherer society to a work and drive to the store society. This was a great step for man kind. It makes our lives easier so we don't have to worry about if we caught a wild pig in our traps today. We can enjoy a nice meal around our family table instead of around the fire pit.
Today, we have progressed a little farther from the drive to the store society to a drive-thru society. Faster is better. The problem is our society got used to the fast McDonalds drive in. We consume too much high calorie foods and do less physical activities. The the only reason we have is that McDonalds is cheap, easy, and we can get out in less than 10 minutes. We think McDonalds is tasty, but we dont know what it is! So we are constantly consuming all this high calorie fast food, and now we wonder why our bodies are so tired and developing cancer. Our bodies have not evolved enough to be able to process all this processed fast foods. So now we know someone who has cancer because our society has embraced this fast solution to our daily consumtion. Cancer is showing up more frequently because of years and years of eating fake sugars and over preserved package goods.
You are what you eat.
It took a long time for me to understand what this statement really meant. After years of consuming fast food and chips, I understood that a diet of fake foods and soda leads to fake health. The solution is to stay off of fast and packaged foods and start to eat the way our grandparents ate, at the table. They had less health problems because of the less processed food they ate.

Went to an Angel game last night
Even though the Angels won, I could still hear the air conditioner units over the fans.
I didn't know stadiums had air conditioners until last night.
No wave, no beach balls, no fights. I miss dodger stadium and all the wild raider fans.

The owner of top class pizza, Mr. I, has offered to host a fundraiser for Nick on MONDAY, APRIL 28TH, ALL DAY. THERE ARE 2 LOCATIONS, 3450 ORANGETHORPE AVENUE, ANAHEIM AND 101 W. IMPERIAL HWY, BREA. IF NICK IS UP TO IT, THEY WILL BE VISITING THE ANAHEIM LOCATION AT DINNER TIME. So don't eat lunch on Monday!
We used to go to top class after we would play baseball on friday afternoons. Mr. I is one cool dude. He always hooked us up with sweet deals and ranch dressing for the crust.

Food for thought
Someone tried to make me feel bad about eating a carrot for a snack. I looked at them and said, "yea...that bag of Oreo's you are eating looks good, too."

Next time you are in Amsterdam...
...Visit the Van Gogh Museum instead of the red light district. But if you want to steal a painting (it has happened before and the work has not been returned), chances are you will not make it out alive. But Holland laws says possesion is 9/10th of who has it, and after possesion of an item of over 20 years, it is yours to keep.
My brother was talking about Van Gogh the other day. He said Van Gogh committed suicide in a field that he just painted called, Wheat Field with Crows . So I looked Van Gogh up on wikipedia to bust that myth. He actually had an interesting short lived life.

For an artist who had so many classic works of art, he died at 37. And he started to paint when he was 27 years old. Before Van Gogh was a painter, he was a preacher. Interesting turn of events that ended up in a mental hospital. Everybody probably knows that Vinny cut off a part of his ear to show his girlfriend that he loved her (typical French romantic), but his not many people know about his suicide. His suicide attempt was made by a revolver to his chest. Van Gogh did not die instantly. In fact, he walked himself back to his room at his hospital and died two weeks later.
(I would have done it differently)

In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing...
If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint," then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced....
I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process...
